Where: Lake's Edge
When: About 5 PM on a Friday evening
Jean took a slow deep breath as she bent over into a Forward Fold then slowly she shifted up into the Bird of Paradise Pose. With one leg on the floor and the other stretched up above her head, she looked out over the lake and the sun that was low on the horizon.
The week had been a busy one with students stressing out and cramming for their various finals. Despite all of her training and her practice with keeping others thoughts out of her own mind, during times like midterms, finals or any other time that students stressed out, keeping them out became more difficult. During these times Jean relied heavily on yoga to help keep her mind clear and keep herself grounded and calm. She would not be any good to anybody if she lost control because the stress and worry that students were feeling managed to get the best of her.
Breathing slowly and inhaling deeply, Jean was very much aware of the figure approaching her but didn't say anything until they were close enough to hear her without her having to yell. Keeping her face forward and continuing to look out over the lake, Jean addressed the person that was approaching her from behind.
"Give me another five minutes and I will be done." Jean said calmly as she held her pose for another minute before lowering her leg and bending back over into the Forward Fold, she let her body hang for another minute. Slowly straightening back up, Jean turned to face the person that had joined her.
